Personal Development
We are proud of the outstanding young people who leave our school. They embody our school values of care, respect and growth and are ready to make a world of difference to their own lives, their community and the world. At Seymour Park Community Primary School, personal development means working with families and our community to teach our children to become successful learners, empowered individuals and responsible 21st Century citizens.
Our plan for personal development is designed using a tiered approach: our curriculum; whole school strategies and targeted personal development. This approach is based upon EEF guidance and influenced by our GOLD UNICEF Rights Respecting culture. In addition, we also make responsive changes where necessary. For example, our work to mark the Coronation of King Charles III.
Personal development at SPCPS covers the factors designated by Ofsted to contribute to pupils' overall personal development. These include: British Values (Democracy, Liberty, the rule of law & tolerance), SMSC (Spiritual, Moral, Social & Cultural), character education, healthy lifestyles and how to be safe.
